Landing page - Center for Professional Develop...

The type and appearance of WordPress landing pages would differ depending on what kind of product you are promoting as well as what the website is focused on in terms of promotion. Affiliate marketing would need a different kind of landing page. On the other hand, the landing page for pay-per-click ads would need further assessment and there are factors to consider in the kind of template to use.

The first consideration is the color. What are the colors to be employed? Landing pages that are effective usually have a white or off-white backdrop using a black or dark-colored font. This is mainly due to the fact that it is easier and cooler to the eyes than any other color. This holds true for landing pages which hold a lot of content. If your template design would have many images, then having dark colored background would be fitting. However, if you want to be safer, sticking it out with the white background and dark font is just perfect.

The second thing is to set aside a big chunk of your landing page for something that is intended to grab the visitor’s attention. It can be a headline or something that convinces the potential client to do something – a call to action. Theoretically, this would incur about 300-600 pixels of the page so try to devote this to the attention-grabbing part and not those that are quite impractical and meaningless. The idea is to let that particular message come across which has something to do with the advertising or link that enticed the visitor to check out your website. If it is not related, chances are, everything goes down the drain.

The third item that is of equal importance is the size and the font type.  Try not to bombard with fonts that are quite complicated to the eyes. Go for the classic fonts such as Times New Roman, Verdana and the Arial with at least 12 point size. You can go as big as 14 but do not go beyond that. Making the fonts bold can be overwhelming; capitalizing it too would not make a difference. Although of course, for emphatic purpose you can do so minimally.

Lastly, a WordPress landing page template design should be convenient and easy, practically fun to use. As basic as it seems to be, a WordPress landing page template that would require too much work like having to use a different kind of software, is not advisable. It is, however, good advice to find a WordPress landing page template that you can quickly modify with just the use of an HTML editor. If there is a need for additional content, setting up a sales process or perhaps employing a tracking system, you can always have sales page template ready on hand.
